Love Happened

Dennis and Jude, two mechanics barely scraping by in a dusty roadside workshop, have their routine disrupted when Olivia, a wealthy woman with a penchant for getting what she wants, begins pursuing Dennis with offers of money and connections. Dennis, wary of compromising his independence, consistently rebuffs her. Their fragile equilibrium shifts when Chimamanda, a destitute young woman evicted by her aunt for refusing to prostitute herself, arrives begging for any work. Dennis takes pity, feeds her, and hires her as a cleaner, while Jude mocks her and Olivia seethes with jealousy. Olivia humiliates Chimamanda by forcing her to clean her shoes, but Dennis defends her, warning Olivia to stop. One night, at Olivia's behest, Jude attempts to rape Chimamanda in the workshop, but she fights him off with a wrench, injuring him, and flees into the street, where she is struck by the car of Duke Davis, an older wealthy man. Duke, seeing her resemblance to his late wife, takes her to the hospital and offers her shelter, care, and a new life in his home. Dennis, frantic with worry, searches for Chimamanda and realizes he has fallen for her. Confronting Jude, Dennis learns of Olivia's involvement and breaks off their relationship, vowing to protect Chimamanda. Meanwhile, Duke grows fond of Chimamanda and proposes marriage, but she gently declines, confessing her love for Dennis. Heartbroken but understanding, Duke decides to help instead. He summons Dennis, and after confirming their mutual feelings, offers to become Chimamanda's father figure. He promises to build Dennis a new workshop, secure clients through his connections, and send Chimamanda to Dubai to open a boutique. The film ends with the three toasting to their newfound family, Dennis and Chimamanda embracing their love, and Duke finding purpose in being a father.
