Graduating from university, Kayode Bachor waits for his father’s arrival, but the man dies of a heart attack on the road, a mistake by Dr. Rufus. When the will is read, the company and foundation go to Kayode while the houses pass to his older brother, B. Bako. Furious, B blames Kayode for their father’s death and demands control, but Kayode steps into leadership, learning the ropes amid staff resistance. In the company’s halls, he meets Deborah, a cleaner who becomes his confidante. Meanwhile, B conspires with Juliet, a secretary, and blackmails Dr. Rufus into poisoning Kayode with lead. His health failing, Kayode is hospitalized; yet he and Deborah grow closer until she reveals she has a daughter, Dabere, causing him to pull away. Then Deborah spots Dr. Rufus tampering with Kayode’s water. She warns him, and Kayode confronts the doctor, who confesses that B forced him to kill their father and poison Kayode. Recording the confession, Kayode fakes his death with the doctor’s help. At the hospital, as B and Juliet gloat over what they think is his corpse, Kayode sits up, and police arrest them. Afterward, Kayode finds Deborah, apologizes, and declares his love, accepting her and her child. They reconcile with a kiss, and Debby agrees to try again. Kayode, freed from family betrayal, looks to a new beginning with Deborah and Dabi.
