Storyline
Sidd, a rising Nigerian musician, meets Amelia (also called Oyai) at a tea bar in the United States, and they begin an intense ten-day affair in Dallas. During this time, Sidd is married to Emily and has a daughter, Rita, but he uses protection; Amelia later admits she punctured the condoms, claiming she fell in love and wanted his child. When Sidd returns home to Nigeria and tries to end contact, Amelia becomes obsessed—she follows him, befriends Emily by posing as a therapy client, and begins stalking the family. She plants incriminating photos in Rita's schoolbag and visits Sidd's home, pretending to be a client seeking legal help from Emily, a lawyer. Emily, unaware of the affair, initially takes the case, but the truth emerges when Amelia demands Sidd divorce Emily and threatens to expose the relationship. After Sidd refuses, Amelia kidnaps Rita, insisting on signed divorce papers. Emily discovers the affair through photos and a confrontation with Amelia, leaving her devastated but determined to rescue Rita. Sidd, under pressure, sends a fake divorce document to Amelia while working with the police to trace her location. Amelia, believing the divorce is real, agrees to meet Sidd but senses a trap; when police arrive, she tries to escape but is arrested, and Rita is safely returned to Emily. The scandal damages Sidd's album release, and Emily decides to divorce him despite his pleas for forgiveness. Sidd offers her the album earnings, but she rejects him, saying she cannot trust him again. The film ends with Emily and Rita moving on, while Sidd faces career ruin and isolation, left alone to confront the consequences of his actions.
