Buchi, a charming but commitment-phobic Lagos engineer, nearly hits Ejiro with his car while she jogs. Their testy roadside encounter sparks his interest but her sharp tongue shuts down his usual pickup lines. He enlists his childhood friend Damian to coach him with increasingly absurd lines yet Ejiro remains unimpressed. Meanwhile Buchi's sister Rita drops off her daughter Jay for the weekend and Buchi seizes the chance to present the toddler as his own child. He hopes Ejiro's warmth toward kids will lower her defenses since she volunteers at an orphanage because she was adopted herself. The ruse works and Ejiro begins spending time at Buchi's house helping with Jay. Domestic moments cooking together shopping for baby gear and visiting the orphanage blur the line between act and reality. Buchi finds himself genuinely bonding with Jay and falling for Ejiro's integrity. The situation shifts when Tife, a lively orphanage girl, collapses and needs emergency surgery. Buchi quietly covers the massive medical bill and camps at the hospital, and the gesture reveals a depth Ejiro never expected. Ejiro discovers the truth when a nurse reveals Jay is Rita's daughter not Buchi's. She feels manipulated and confronts him in a furious street showdown and accuses him of using an innocent child as bait. Buchi admits his original intent was only to sleep with her but insists he fell in love along the way, yet Ejiro walks away devastated. Buchi spirals and confesses his lie to Damian who urges him to come clean. Rita intervenes and pleads with Ejiro to see her brother's genuine remorse and the fact that he never left the hospital until Tife was safe. Ejiro, moved by Buchi's consistent presence during Tife's recovery and Rita's testimony, agrees to hear him out. In a hallway confrontation Buchi lays bare his fear of losing her and his newfound willingness to be honest, and they reconcile with a tender embrace and reintroduce themselves properly.
