Ikunle
Gbade and Wuraola are newlyweds, laughing on their wedding night about starting a family. In Ikunle, a routine check-up with Dr. Collins reveals Wuraola has no womb, a condition caused by the abortion Gbade forced on her in their 200-level days. She accuses him of ruining her life. He answers with the memory of nearly choking on pepper-soup, when he knew she was the one, and swears they will face it together. His mother then barges in, forces Wuraola to strip, finds an old incision, and calls her a spirit child. Gbade throws his mother out, and desperate for a child, he brings home a destitute young woman named Ibidun, telling Wuraola she is the solution.
Storyline
In Ikunle, Gbade and Wuraola spend their wedding night joking about starting a family. At a check-up, Dr. Collins reveals Wuraola has no womb, likely from a past surgery. She reminds Gbade that he pressured her into sex in 200-level, got her pregnant, and forced a quack abortion that evacuated her womb. She accuses him of ruining her life, and he answers with the cafeteria memory of nearly choking on pepper-soup and knowing she was the one. His mother barges in, makes Wuraola strip, spots an incision, and calls her a spirit child. Gbade throws her out and brings home a destitute young woman named Ibidun as the solution. He locks Ibidun in a room, starves her for three nights, and rapes her. A pregnancy test confirms she is pregnant, and the couple celebrates with a fake baby bump. Wuraola offers Ibidun a deal: if she carries the baby to term, Wuraola will send her to school. Ibidun agrees miserably. Wuraola begins to sympathise and secretly lets Ibidun out of the locked room to stretch. One day Ibidun escapes, locking Wuraola inside. Gbade races home in a rage, screams she has run off with 'our child,' and tells Wuraola she should have been wicked. The escape is undone, and Ibidun is back in confinement, heavily pregnant and in pain. Labour begins, and Gbade, having studied everything online, announces he will deliver the baby. When she fails to push, he decides to perform a Caesarean section and retrieves a knife. Wuraola is horrified and begs him not to commit murder, but Gbade is relentless. As the light fails and he moves closer to Ibidun, Wuraola grabs a blunt object and strikes him down. She rushes to Ibidun, apologises, promises to take her to the hospital, and helps her into the car, telling her to stay strong. Wuraola turns the ignition, and her husband appears at the window, menacing. A scream fills the air as the screen cuts to black.
