Husband For Hire

Alexis is an executive at a company her father co-founded with her cousin Brian's family, and the board says she cannot be CEO while she is unmarried. In Husband For Hire, her friend Gracie advises hiring a temporary husband, so Alexis agrees to the sham and insists on a non-disclosure agreement. Her maid Esosa learns the plan and brings her unemployed boyfriend Elvis to the interview, where he accepts two million naira monthly to play the husband. The fake engagement goes public, Alexis's father is delighted, and Brian, the cousin the board favours, persuades the board to let him move into her house for a week to investigate. Elvis and Alexis share a bedroom to sell the story, and Esosa moves in too, claiming she needs to protect her madam. Brian questions Elvis and follows him around, and he tries to pay Esosa to drug Elvis's drink. Esosa tips Elvis off, so he only pretends to be affected. Real feelings grow between Alexis and Elvis, and after a night out where Elvis dances with another woman, Alexis confesses that she has come to care for him. Alexis pleads with her father to restore her privacy, and the board schedules the CEO decision. Before the board, she admits the engagement was a lie and insists her work should count more than her marital status. Brian calls her a fraud, but the board makes Alexis CEO, which leaves him furious. With the job hers, Elvis starts packing to leave, sure the arrangement is over. Elvis returns to the house and apologises sincerely, admitting he came into her life for the money but genuinely fell in love along the way. Alexis tells him she already has the CEO job, forgives him, and asks for total honesty. He swears he misses her and does not want to lose her, and they embrace. Her father arrives upset at first, but after he hears Elvis apologise and notices that his daughter has forgiven him, he says everyone deserves a second chance and accepts their renewed relationship.
