Hearts In Motion

Declan's car strikes Nora on a Lagos street, and he rushes her to the hospital, where doctors reveal she will need a wheelchair. Overcome with guilt, he brings Nora to his home and hires a nurse, Melody, to care for her. Nora remains mute and unresponsive, even biting physiotherapist Vincent when he tries to help. Declan's girlfriend Ivy grows increasingly jealous of the attention Nora receives. She force-feeds Nora and, with her friend Bella, plans to abandon her among beggars to force her to speak. When Declan learns of Ivy's cruelty, he kicks her out and discovers that Nora can indeed talk. She confesses she became mute out of grief—her mother died while she was delayed at a pharmacy, and Declan's accident prevented her from returning in time. Nora reveals she is a scriptwriter cheated by a director. Declan supports her, giving her a laptop and encouraging her to enter writing competitions. As they grow closer, Nora begins to recover, walking with crutches. Ivy returns, falsely claiming pregnancy, but Declan sees through her lies and declares his love for Nora, who leaves after overhearing an argument. Nora attends her mother's funeral, then returns to Declan. He asks her to be his girlfriend, and she accepts. Ivy's manipulation and Nora's trauma are overcome. Nora wins a writing competition, and the couple embraces, looking forward to a shared future.
