Folashade, a 27-year-old entrepreneur, brings Chief Benson, a 67-year-old wealthy businessman, home to meet her mother Ajibade. Chief Benson tells them he is married but his wife has cancer and he plans to marry Folashade. Ajibade, a single mother since her husband died thirteen years ago, is horrified by the age gap and the cheating, and she warns Folashade about the judgment single mothers face. In Heart Or Bills Ajibade decides to test whether Folashade loves Chief for money or for genuine affection, so she recruits Jide and funds a fake luxury life. Jide is a struggling mechanical engineering graduate who gets an apartment, a G‑Wagon, and cash transfers from Ajibade. Folashade meets Jide at her mother's supermarket, is drawn to his youth and energy, and begins to fall for him. She breaks up with Chief, who reacts with threats of regret. Later Ajibade reveals the orchestration to Folashade, explaining that Jide was never rich and that the lifestyle was funded by her. Jide admits that despite the setup he genuinely fell in love with Folashade and became a better man because of her. Folashade feels betrayed by both her mother and Jide and collapses in tears. Ajibade delivers a fierce woman‑to‑woman lecture condemning the transactional view of love and urging Folashade to build her own wealth instead of selling herself cheap. She demands an answer to the question love or money. Jide pours out his heart, declaring he felt seen and loved for the first time, and asks for a future together. Ajibade reassures her daughter of unconditional support. The film ends on Folashade's distraught face as the screen fades to black with the lingering question: 'Is it morning? Is it love?'
