EARLY LIFE
Adam Songbird, born Aluko Damilola in Lagos State, Nigeria, had a communal upbringing, exposed to diverse musical influences including Fuji, Reggae, Afrobeat, and Gospel in Lagos Mainland and Lagos Island. He attended Ikeja High School, obtained a diploma in Computer Science from Federal Polytechnic, Offa (2006), and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Lagos State University (2016).
CAREER
Adam Songbird began his career in the early 2010s as a gospel singer-songwriter, signed under Mike Abdul’s record label. His transition into Nollywood film scoring started in 2011 with the film 'Eti Keta'. He has since become a prominent soundtrack composer and sound designer, contributing to numerous Nollywood films such as 'Prophetess' (2021), 'King of Thieves' (2022), 'Jagun Jagun' (2023), 'Battle on Buka Street' (2022), 'Ada Omo Daddy' (2023), 'The House of Secrets' (2023), 'Mikolo' (2023), 'Beast of Two Worlds', 'Casa De Novia', 'The Man For The Job', 'Seven Doors', and 'Labale Olododo'. He often collaborates with colleagues like Tolu Obanro and utilizes tools like Logic Pro X and AI plugins for sound generation. He also has solo music releases, including his debut EP 'No Strings Attached' (2022) and the single 'Ina My Heart' (2023).
