Yetunde, a young woman from a poor family in Sagamu, concocts an elaborate lie to win over Chris, a man she believes to be wealthy, claiming a privileged UK upbringing and a father of means. Alakada GenZ 3 charts how she draws her mother into the pretense during a visit to Lagos, while Chris, in reality a car washer, mirrors her deception by posing as a successful businessman and installing her in a lavish service apartment he can only afford for a week. Their romance thrives on this web of fabrications until Yetunde’s friend Ire and sister Ife inadvertently expose cracks in the story during a tense encounter with Chris. Fleeing the confrontation, Yetunde tracks Chris to his uncle’s car lot, where she watches him washing vehicles alongside his personal assistant, who then confirms the truth of his menial job.
