In For A Better Tomorrow, Agnes drives a taxi in a busy Nigerian city, and repeated breakdowns have made it hard to keep up with her financier, Mr. Okoro. When she begs him for one more week, he seizes the car keys instead. Meanwhile, Ash and Jeffrey disagree about hiring a nanny for their daughters, thirteen-year-old Erica and nine-year-old Ella, with Jeffrey arguing the girls are old enough to manage. Ash insists and gets one through an agency. Jobless, Agnes takes the position, and a friend warns her the work will not be easy. Agnes moves in, and the girls immediately challenge her authority. They refuse the meals she prepares, step on her freshly mopped floors, and remind her that they are the owners' children. When she tries to correct them, Erica throws a vase. Their home teacher resigns after Erica questions her ideas about greeting, and at school Mrs. Victoria finds a phone in Erica's possession with troubling content, so Erica is suspended. Ash collects her, and Jeffrey blames Ash's attention to work while Ash insists the girls are learning to defend themselves. Desperate, Agnes proposes taking the girls to her modest neighborhood temporarily to learn discipline. Jeffrey accepts, but Ash hesitates, and Magnus drops the sisters at Agnes's home, where they refuse garri and akara, demand to go home, and question the sleeping arrangements. Agnes stays firm and makes the girls perform chores and eat what is served. Slowly they adjust, playing with local children, taking responsibility for household tasks, and starting to pray together. Agnes reports the progress to Jeffrey, who is impressed, and when Ash and Jeffrey bring the girls home, Erica and Ella are respectful and helpful. The parents notice the sisters praying and decide to pray as a family. Ash releases Agnes from nanny duty and offers her a social media management job at her company, plus an apartment, so Agnes can live with the family until it is ready. Ash and Agnes embrace warmly.
