Fond Of You

Ziko, heir to a family fortune, rejects his father’s demand to run the company, insisting instead on becoming a sound engineer. His temper flares when he accuses the maid Roseline of stealing his iPhone, and despite his father’s protests, forces her dismissal. A friend traces the phone to Ibeju, where Ziko confronts Abigail—Abby—who had found it at work. He physically assaults her and has her arrested, but a friend bails her out. When Ziko’s father learns the truth—that Abby was trying to return the phone—he hires her as a replacement maid, apologizing for his son’s behavior. Ziko persists in his abusive treatment until Abby shoves him onto a sofa, berating his rudeness; later, the father apologizes again, revealing that Ziko’s rage stems from his mother’s death and his father’s hasty remarriage to Charity. A heated argument between father and son uncovers Ziko’s resentment over insufficient mourning, but the father proves he visits the cemetery, and they reconcile emotionally. Ziko and Abby grow close as he helps manage his late mother’s supermarket. He asks her parents for her hand in marriage, and they give their blessing. The film concludes with Ziko and Abby kissing in the kitchen and later dancing inside a car, their future bright but still shadowed by the violence that first defined them.
