Fiancée For A Day

Weary from her mother Nonye's relentless demands for money and marriage, entrepreneur Emem escapes to a bar where she reconnects with Tobi, a charismatic executive burdened by his father Kayode's belittling. After a night of drinking and bonding over their difficult families, they wake up to Tobi's parents arriving unexpectedly; to cover up his failed proposal to another woman, Tobi introduces Emem as his fiancée. Seizing the opportunity to get her mother off her back, Emem plays along, and they agree to maintain the charade for a day. Their performance convinces everyone: Emem stands up to Kayode's criticisms of Tobi, winning over his mother Bisola, while forcing her own mother to respect her boundaries. But their fake romance starts feeling genuine as they grow closer. The illusion shatters when Emem discovers she and Tobi are competing for the same contract, Dynamite; after Tobi's company wins, Emem accuses him of stealing her ideas, leading to a bitter fight. Tobi's father attempts to bribe Emem to leave his son, but she refuses. Devastated, Emem cuts off contact. Tobi confronts his father about the bribery and resigns from the family business to start his own. He learns that his partner Dave used Emem's concepts without permission, so he sends her a document appointing her CEO of his new company and gifting her the Dynamite contract. Realizing she misjudged him, Emem seeks Tobi out; he proposes properly, and she accepts. Together they assert themselves against their families, ready to build a future based on trust and mutual support.
