Family Ties

Wale, a wealthy businessman, maintains two families: his legal wife Ifeoma and son Francis, and his secret mistress Chisom with their daughter Dorinda. He often forgets Dorinda's birthday, prioritizing his official family. On her eighth birthday, he fails to show up, lying about canceled flights. Chisom's sister Uche exposes the lie, and soon Chisom dies in an accident. Uche insists Wale take Dorinda into his home. Wale confesses to Ifeoma and Francis about his affair and Dorinda. Ifeoma rages and refuses to accept the girl, while Francis bullies Dorinda, calling her a chipmunk. Wale struggles to keep peace; Ifeoma punishes him by withholding intimacy. Francis continues his cruelty, and Ifeoma rejects Dorinda repeatedly, leaving the girl feeling unwanted. Wale reveals his affair stemmed from Ifeoma's denial of sex, but this only worsens the rift. The family begins to heal when Ifeoma reads Dorinda's diary and sees her innocent desire for acceptance. She breaks down, apologizes, and embraces Dorinda as a daughter. Later, Francis nearly drowns in the pool due to his fear of water, and Dorinda saves him. This act changes his heart; he apologizes and reconciles. The family unites: Ifeoma accepts Dorinda, Francis becomes protective, and Wale promises to be a better father. Dorinda calls Ifeoma 'Mom', and the family moves past the betrayal.
