After catching his maid in a compromising position in his kitchen, Mr. Martins fires her. His sister Mary, tired of the cycle, advises him to find a wife instead. Reluctantly, he agrees to meet candidates. Mary introduces Ogechi, a single mother in need of work, who is hired as a live-in housekeeper. Fearing her employer would reject her if he knew about her daughter Mila, Ogechi conspires with her friend Shade to smuggle Mila into the house inside a large bag, claiming it contains foodstuffs. They successfully hide Mila in Ogechi's room, with strict instructions to stay concealed. Ogechi struggles to keep Mila hidden, sneaking her food and secretly taking her to school. One day, Mila disobeys and eats a brownie from the refrigerator, which knocks her unconscious. Ogechi panics but covers the incident by claiming she ate it herself, leaving Mr. Martins perplexed. Later, Mila wakes up thirsty and ventures to the kitchen, where Mr. Martins discovers her. Furious, he threatens to fire Ogechi for deceit, but Mila bravely defends her mother. After thoughtful consideration, Mr. Martins relents and allows both to stay, warning Ogechi to be transparent in the future. Mr. Martins and Ogechi grow closer through late-night conversations, developing a romantic connection. Mary becomes jealous and accuses Ogechi of scheming, but Mr. Martins defends Ogechi and declares his feelings. Mila, thrilled at the prospect of a father, encourages the relationship. Mr. Martins proposes, and Ogechi accepts after confirming her love. Mary overhears Ogechi's heartfelt confession on the phone and gives her blessing. They plan a wedding within a month, with Mila picking out her mother's engagement ring. Mr. Martins declares Mila his daughter too, and Ogechi feels grateful for the ray of sunshine in her life.
