Storyline

The movie recounts the awe-inspiring true story of the Bisesero Resistance. As genocidal forces sweep across western Rwanda, an elder named Aminadabu Birara refuses to let his people succumb without a fight. Together with his beloved wife, two sons, and two daughters, they ascend Muyira Hill alongside 50,000 displaced villagers. Framed and largely narrated through the harrowing perspective of his teenage daughter, Epiphanie, the film chronicles how ordinary civilians utilized immense tactical ingenuity, unity, and absolute courage to hold off heavily armed Hutu militias, government troops, and foreign forces for weeks using nothing but sticks, spears, and stones.
