Behind Holy Doors

The movie "Behind Holy Doors" opens with loud praise and worship at Arc of Grace Church. Pastor Brume leads the singing. People dance with joy. Madam Nkechi, the security guard, enjoys the music outside. During service, Pastor Brume asks for donations. Mr. Atama and his wife give five million naira. Another man gives three million naira. Then Mazi Nze donates twenty thousand dollars in cash and throws the bills in the air. The church cheers. After service, a group goes to the vestry to count the money. The group includes Mrs. Atama, Olisa, Gabriella, Dafe and Mr. Bitrus. Mrs. Atama wants to count the dollars first. Suddenly the lights go off for a few seconds. When the lights return, the twenty thousand dollars have disappeared. Everyone is shocked. Mrs. Atama accuses Olisa at once. She says he is an ex-convict who was in prison for stealing. Olisa says he is innocent. They call Madam Nkechi. Then Mr. Bolaji enters. He wears a green beret and says he is a retired military commander and criminologist. He takes charge. He says the money must still be in the room. Mr. Bolaji searches and finds a hidden phone. It belongs to Gabriella. He accuses her of stealing to pay her sick mother’s bills. Gabriella cries and denies it. She says she hid the phone when the lights went off. He then questions Dafe, saying he has gambling debts and needs money for his unborn child. Dafe denies it too. Next, Mr. Bolaji accuses Mrs. Atama. He says she took the money to get back the five million her husband gave. Mrs. Atama gets very angry. No one confesses. The money is not found.
