Year: 2023Runtime: 134 minutesRating:⭐ 0

A tribe Called Judah is a gripping Nigerian family drama directed jointly by Funke Akindele and Adeoluwa Owu, produced under the Funke Ayotunde Akindele Network (FAAN). The film weaves together themes of maternal love, sacrifice, identity, and the challenges of growing up under financial and social strain. With a strong ensemble cast, the movie captures both humour and heartbreak as it explores how a mother’s illness forces her diverse family to confront morality, survival, and unity.

Storyline

Jedidah Judah has raised five sons alone, each from different fathers and tribes, holding her family together despite constant struggles. When she develops kidney failure and urgently needs millions for surgery, the burden falls on her boys Emeka, Shina, Pere, Adamu, and Ejiro who each carry their own flaws and conflicts. Desperate, they hatch a plan to rob Emeka’s former boss, a man with shady dealings. But on the night of the heist, another gang arrives at the same target, and everything spins into violence and betrayal. What begins as an attempt to save their mother becomes a test of family unity, sacrifice, and survival.
