EARLY LIFE

Mercy Johnson Okojie was born in Lagos, Nigeria to Daniel Johnson, a former naval officer, and his wife, Elizabeth. She is the fourth of seven children and originally from Okene in Kogi State. She attended Nigerian Navy Secondary School in Port Harcourt.

CAREER

She made her acting debut in the 2004 film 'The Maid'. She has since appeared in numerous films and won the Best Supporting Actress award at the 2009 Africa Movie Academy Awards. In 2017, she was appointed as the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Entertainment, Arts and Culture to the Governor of Kogi State. She is also a film producer, with 'The Legend of Inikpi' being her debut production, and hosts a cooking show called 'Mercy's Menu'.

PERSONAL LIFE

She married Prince Odianosen Okojie in 2011 and they have four children together. She was Google's most searched Nigerian celebrity in 2011 and 2012. She underwent surgery for a thyroid condition.
