The movie Adultish is about a teenage boy who hates doing chores at home. His mother Adufe finds the house messy with his school things and dirty plates every day. She scolds him and makes him clean the kitchen. Adeola thinks it is a woman's job and wants his parents to hire a maid. His father Ajayi is also disappointed. They punish him by taking away his new gaming pad and sending him to bed without food. Adeola feels angry and thinks about becoming an adult soon so he can do what he wants. But will life as a grown man be as easy as he believes?

Storyline

The movie Adultish has spoilers in this description. It begins when mother Adufe sees her living room messy with Adeola's school uniform, books, bag and dirty plates. She scolds the teenage son for not cleaning. She makes him wash dishes in the dirty kitchen. Adeola says he is tired but Adufe explains parents work hard so he must help. At dinner Adeola refuses food and says washing plates is woman's job. He wants a maid. Parents disappointed. Adufe sends him to bed without food. Father cancels gaming pad because he will fail in life without responsibility. Next day Adeola comes home late. He lies about transport but confesses playing football. Father punishes by no pad and more cleaning. Adeola cleans but dreams of being adult with no chores. In his dream Adeola is rich in mansion. Plays PS5 with friend Ebube and goes to party. But Megan rejects him. Then banks take everything for unpaid loan. He loses all and lives poor in slum with pregnant mother. He does hard work like pounding yam and washing dishes. Eats little while mother suffers. He cries a lot. Then he wakes as teen boy. Scared he hugs parents and apologizes for disrespect and bad attitude. He promises to be better. Parents are happy he learned the lesson in the scary dream. This shows how Adultish teaches about growing up and family respect.
