The story of Ghetto Affection begins when a rich woman picks a girl named Nwamaka from a poor area and hires her to work in her large house. Her real plan is not just to get help around the home, but to push her son, Chidi, toward marriage. To make this happen, the mother tells Nwamaka to act like a bold street girl and use her looks and cooking skills to catch Chidi’s eye. Chidi already has a girlfriend named Eliana, who soon feels jealous and tries hard to push the maid away. As days pass, Chidi starts to notice Nwamaka’s quiet strength and genuine care, while Eliana’s true colors slowly show. The big twist happens when Eliana is caught as a fraud. She never came from a powerful family, but only wanted Chidi’s money. At the same moment, Nwamaka drops her rough street act. She speaks perfect English and reveals she actually holds a university degree, showing she only hid her past to survive. With the lies exposed, Eliana faces arrest, and Chidi finally sees the real woman beside him. In the final scene, Nwamaka feels sick while cooking with Chidi’s mother, who quickly realizes what it means. The happy mother smiles, knowing Nwamaka is carrying Chidi’s baby.
