Liz Benson Ameye

She's an Iconic Nigerian actress and TV personality, a Philanthropist who raised into fame in 1990s, she's married to Bishop Great Ameye after leaving acting for sometime to become a born again, be she's well known for her role in the soap opera Fortune where she played as Agnes Johnson in 1993 and Glamour girls in 1994 ever since then she has featured in several movie and alongside veteran actresses and actors.

EARLY LIFE

Liz Benson Ameye was born Elizabeth Benson on 5 April 1966, in Etinan, Akwa Ibom State, southern Nigeria. She attended Sylvania State College in the United States of America, where she obtained a degree in Dramatic Arts. Benson began acting when she was 5 years old.

CAREER

She featured in 'Fortunes', a television soap opera in 1993, playing Mrs. Agnes Johnson. Her role in 'Glamour Girls' (1994) cemented her status as a film actress. Benson quit acting in 1996 and later returned to Nollywood as a born-again Christian. She now preaches the gospel on a full-time basis and only acts in films that align with her faith.

PERSONAL LIFE

Benson lost her first husband, Samuel Gabriel Etim, in her mid-twenties. She remarried Bishop Great Ameye in a quiet court ceremony in Abuja in 2009. The couple is deeply involved in a Christian Evangelical Ministry, Freedom Family Assembly, where Benson is an evangelist and her husband is a pastor.
