EARLY LIFE
Priye Diri discovered her passion for storytelling at a young age. She was actively involved in the drama unit of her church, where she began writing scripts and performing. This early engagement in creative expression laid the foundation for her career in film. She has always been drawn to intimate, compelling stories that disrupt conventional portrayals of women and explore complex social realities.
CAREER
Priye Diri is a director, producer, and writer who made her film debut with the short film Lost Love (2015), which explores the emotional impact of losing a loved one. She is passionate about telling stories of women who lead unconventional lives and navigate issues of gender, power, and social realities. Key achievements include, Writer on the feature film Kill Boro, Selected as the first Nigerian participant in the prestigious 2024 Global Media Makers LA Residency (10th edition) by Film Independent, where she workshopped her narrative feature project Baby Girl, International training at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in Germany (2020/2021, majoring in Directing), 2023 Mandela Washington Fellow.
