Biography
EARLY LIFE
Tchidi Chikere, born on October 10, 1975, in Amuzi, Ahiazu Mbaise, Imo State, Nigeria. He earned a degree in English Language and Literary Studies from the University of Calabar and later obtained a Master's degree in Literature from the University of Lagos.
CAREER
Chikere began his career in the Nigerian entertainment industry as a scriptwriter in 1999, making his acting debut in 'Ijele' the same year. He transitioned to directing in 2001 with 'Fire Dancer' and has since directed and produced over 100 films in Nollywood. He also ventured into music, releasing his debut album 'Slaps n Kisses' in 2007 and a second album after 2007. His works often explore themes of romance, social justice, and Igbo cultural elements.
PERSONAL LIFE
Chikere's first marriage was to actress and producer Sophia Williams in 2003, which ended in divorce in 2012. He then married actress Nuella Njubigbo in a traditional ceremony on March 29, 2014, and held a white wedding on June 9, 2018. This marriage ended in separation around 2021. He announced his third marriage in April 2023, though the identity of his spouse was not publicly disclosed. He has three sons from his first marriage and one daughter, Adachi Testimony Tchidi Chikere, from his second marriage.
