Word On The Street

In a dimly lit club, Anderson calls Becky to join him and his friends, but she turns him down for a client. Meanwhile, Sandra scrambles to raise money for her mother's urgent surgery, leaning on her boyfriend Clinton for help. Clinton promises but delivers nothing. Sandra's sister, Becky, a prostitute, hands over cash from her work—but it's not enough. Their mother dies because the deposit remains unpaid. Grief turns to rage as Sandra blames Becky and Clinton both. Then comes the knife twist: Sandra discovers that Clinton slept with Becky. The confrontation is brutal—Becky claims ignorance, Clinton apologizes, but Sandra walks away from them both. Becky, guilt-ridden, decides to leave for Port Harcourt. At a bar, she runs into Clinton again. This time, Clinton offers to fund her hair business, admitting he knew Sandra from university and was attracted to Becky all along. He gives her capital, and she starts a salon. Soon, Clinton and Sandra reconnect and begin dating again—but Clinton secretly pursues Becky on the side. Torn between two sisters, Clinton eventually confesses everything, asking Sandra for permission to date Becky. Sandra, though hurt, sees how unhappy her sister is and gives her blessing. "Word on the Street" captures the emotional fallout as Clinton and Becky declare their love; Becky leaves her old life behind. In a parallel thread, Sandra reconciles with her ex-boyfriend Jay, who had also made mistakes. The sisters mend their bond, and the film ends with them supporting each other, moving forward.
