Trenches Kid

Peace, a volatile woman prone to violent outbursts, gets into a heated argument with an older woman at a market before attacking a man named Williams, slamming him to the ground. Williams loses consciousness and is rushed to the hospital, where he awakens with no memory of his name or past. Peace, guilt-ridden and under pressure, reluctantly takes him into her home, though she struggles to contain her temper and provide for him. Despite his amnesia, Williams begins to notice Peace's anger issues and suggests she count to thirty before reacting to provocations, a technique that slowly helps her gain control. Meanwhile, Williams' mother and best friend launch a desperate search, filing a police report and posting on social media. Peace's backstory emerges: her mother died, her father remarried a cruel woman, and she turned to violence as a defense mechanism. The climax occurs when Williams sees a social media post from his mother, suddenly regaining his memory. He calls his overjoyed mother and confronts Peace about her violent behavior, only to learn about her traumatic past. Though he decides to leave, he makes amends first. Williams returns to his family but does not forget Peace and her son Joseph. He gifts Peace 20 million naira to start a new business and urges her to change her ways. Peace promises to stop fighting and begins counting to thirty. The film ends with Peace and Joseph celebrating their new opportunity, while Williams drives away, his memory fully restored.
