Storyline

Burdened by debts and the threat of loan sharks demanding three million naira within three days, Kess pitches a desperate plan to his sisters, Fejiro and Tega: have one of them pass herself off as a caregiver to wealthy Tonye Fubara and seduce him into solving the family's money problems. Chosen for her gentler temperament, Tega stumbles through the interview yet gets hired, looking after Tonye's sister Doubra, a young woman in a wheelchair who stutters. While Tega genuinely befriends Doubra, Fejiro takes the scheme into her own hands by jogging her way into Tonye's orbit, and their flirtation quickly ripens into actual romance. Sensing the danger, Tega tries to pull Fejiro back, but Fejiro will no longer treat Tonye as a mark. The scheme's central irony deepens when Doubra, having learned about the family's debt, asks her brother to transfer four million naira to Tega—enough to clear the loan sharks, though not enough to make the lie disappear. Tonye overhears the sisters quarrelling about the con, and the whole setup collapses; he throws both women out of his house in devastation. Back home, Tega and Fejiro erupt into a vicious fight, with Tega pouring out years of pain over Fejiro's cruel jokes about her appearance, and Fejiro finally breaking down, apologizing, and admitting she never believed she deserved love. With the debt gone and the two sisters now running a modest business together, Doubra—strong enough to walk again—arrives at their home to forgive Tega and ask for a renewed friendship. Tonye, still carrying his feelings for Fejiro, appears at the same doorstep to declare he would rather take a chance with her than spend his life wondering. The kiss that follows draws everyone into a warm embrace; Kess looks on as the sisters share a healed, quiet understanding, and the whole family steps out of the shadow of the scheme and toward a fresh start.
