Storyline

Ogechi is still sobbing in her bedroom when her brother Justin finds her, the news of Ezekiel's breakup arriving just before her thirtieth birthday. She lists her failed relationships, insists love is not for her, and later pours a drink on a man at her own birthday dinner simply for complimenting her. Justin tries to comfort her, but she launches a podcast called 'Love is Overrated and Men Are Scum,' forbidding him from taking part. While walking the streets, Justin stops at a young Zobo seller named Samantha, buys her entire stock, and overpays her, bringing the drink home to a delighted Ogechi—who, upon learning its source, warns him to stay away. Despite her warning, Justin keeps seeking Samantha out after she thanks him, learning she has no phone and suffers at home with an abusive father and a stepmother who takes her earnings. He offers to tutor her, pays for a phone using Ogechi's card, and the resulting argument reveals Ogechi's jealousy. She records a podcast episode calling him scum and fakes a leg injury to win back his attention, but the ruse fails. Samantha overhears the siblings' fight and suggests finding Ogechi a man, secretly signing her up for a dating site and matching her with a man named Martins. Justin lies to Ogechi about a date to make up for everything, sends her to a lounge, and she arrives in good faith only to find Martins instead of her brother. Surprised but charmed, she admits he looks better in person, and the two laugh through the evening. When she returns home with a genuine smile, Justin and Samantha are relieved; Ogechi later prepares breakfast cheerfully and announces a second date. Martins arrives in a Mercedes, places a necklace on her, and as she rides off with him, her voice-over recants her earlier beliefs—perhaps love isn't overrated, maybe not all men are scum—just before the credits roll.
