The Bride

Richard, a successful Lagos businessman, finds his engagement to Stacy shattered when a stranger named Erica kisses him without consent as a ploy to escape her toxic ex-boyfriend Charles. Stacy witnesses the kiss and immediately breaks off the wedding, refusing to hear Richard's explanations. Enraged and desperate, Richard tracks down Erica and forces her to help him repair his relationship. He drags her to Stacy's house to confess, but Stacy throws water on them and later reveals she has already moved on with another man. Determined to prove her wrong, Richard insists on marrying on the original wedding date and orders Erica to find him a replacement bride. Erica reluctantly interviews a series of unsuitable women while Richard pressures her daily, their constant arguments slowly giving way to an unexpected bond. After a car accident lands Richard in the hospital, Erica nurses him back to health, and he begins to see her in a new light. Richard admits to a friend that his demand for a bride was merely a pretext to spend time with Erica, and he confesses his feelings to her, proposing marriage. Erica is shocked and initially refuses, fearing she would be a rebound, but eventually agrees to a marriage based on loyalty and trust—not love. Richard insists he trusts her and believes they are meant to be together. Erica accepts, and they choose a wedding dress, sealing their decision with a kiss. The film closes with the couple embracing and laughing, having found happiness despite the chaotic beginning.
