Storyline
The Boy Who Gave is a 2025 Nigerian drama. Idah is a teenager from Bonny Island, Rivers State. After his parents die, he cares for his brother D-Boy and sister Priye alone. He drops out of school and does any small job to buy food and pay for their needs. His uncle Opuada causes more problems. Idah gives up his own dreams so his siblings can go to school. People now call him "Broda" instead of Idah. The film shows his daily struggles with poverty. He has quiet moments with his grandmother who gives advice. He also makes a friend named Ikenna. Idah sacrifices everything, including his own happiness. The movie has emotional scenes about family duty. The film is written, directed, and stars Allison Precious Emmanuel as Idah. It screened at AFRIFF 2025 and is coming to cinemas.
