Storyline

Zina returns to Nigeria with Sparkle after Reginald's death, seeking to restart her life. 'Talk To Me' centers on her pursuit of Tuoyo, a successful tailor who rebuffs her, still nursing wounds from when she chose Reginald under her father's threats. Through persistence and explanation, she slowly rebuilds his trust, but Madam Ojemba, her mother-in-law, discovers the visits and demands Zina honor Reginald's memory. Friend Awele urges Zina to take charge, leading to a heated confrontation where Zina asserts her right to move on. The conflict escalates when Madam Ojemba locks Zina out and attempts to stop Sparkle from attending school. A physical struggle ensues, and Zina is forced to flee without her daughter. Zina's mother arrives, surprising everyone by defending her daughter's happiness against Madam Ojemba, sparking a custody argument between the two grandmothers. Supported by Tuoyo, Zina decides to fight for both her child and her freedom. Zina's mother apologizes for her past interference and gives her blessing for Zina's relationship with Tuoyo. With that support, Zina retrieves Sparkle from Madam Ojemba. The film closes on Zina, Tuoyo, and Sparkle driving to the beach, a new family embarking on a life unbounded by the dictates of the past.
