Steal My Heart

Bored with his cushioned existence of office work and an arranged marriage to Zina, Ravi seeks the thrill of the unfamiliar. He hires Folashade (Shade), a woman he witnessed standing her ground against harassment, to tutor him in street language and mannerisms. Despite his fiancée Zina’s open disapproval, Ravi pays Shade 300,000 naira for lessons, which she accepts skeptically. As they spend time together playing games and sharing stories, Ravi sheds his bookish stiffness while Shade reveals a generous spirit beneath her rough edges. Their bond deepens, yet Zina and Ravi’s mother, determined to protect family reputation, learn of the arrangement and confront Shade at her home, branding her a 'gutter girl'. The humiliation cuts deep, and Shade withdraws, insisting their worlds cannot merge. Ravi defies his mother, confessing his love to Shade, but she refuses to be the wedge between him and his family. Meanwhile, Zina, seeing Ravi’s unhappiness, accepts the breakup and urges his mother to reconsider. Ravi's mother, struck by her son’s despair and her own harshness, visits Shade to apologize and ask for a fresh start. She admits her faults and gives her blessing, welcoming Shade into the family. With his mother’s acceptance secured, Ravi proposes to Shade, who joyfully accepts. The couple embraces, their future now free from the constraints of class and tradition.
