Cathy, a fifteen-year-old, slaps Felix when he tries to touch her; Felix retaliates by lying to his girlfriend Oma, claiming Cathy seduced him. Oma confronts her sister but believes the truth, though doubt lingers like smoke. Meanwhile, Jude's father Jonah pressures him to marry or lose his inheritance, and when Jude learns of Jonah's heart condition, he reluctantly seeks a wife.
