In a vibrant estate in Nairobi, Kena and Ziki are two ambitious young women whose paths cross because their fathers are rival politicians running for local office. Despite their families' fierce competition and the heavy community expectation that "good Kenyan girls become good Kenyan wives", a deep and immediate bond forms between them. As their close friendship blossoms into an intense, secret romance, they are forced to navigate the intensely conservative and watchful eyes of their neighborhood. When their relationship is inevitably discovered, they face extreme societal hostility, forcing them to make a gut-wrenching choice between their personal happiness and their literal safety.
