Our Date For Christmas

In Our Date For Christmas, Roland is a widower with two daughters, Regina (Reggie) and Fifi. He meets fashion designer Ovie and asks her to make the girls' Christmas outfits. They start dating, but the girls are hostile, putting gum in her hair and salt in her tea. At a birthday celebration, their behavior drives Ovie to leave. Roland asks Ovie to watch the girls for two weeks while he travels to Ibadan. She agrees reluctantly, but the girls stay up late and refuse to obey. Ovie complains to her friend Joy, and the girls overhear her, so they plot to drive her away. The girls keep acting out while Roland is away, but they slowly bond with Ovie by baking cupcakes, which ends in a flour fight, and decorating the Christmas tree. Roland returns and finds Reggie on the floor, and he assumes Ovie harmed her. In the confrontation, Ovie insists she did nothing wrong, but Roland throws her out without listening. He questions his daughters, but they lie, and he threatens to send them away if they lie again. At her shop, he tries to apologize, but she refuses and says he will always side with his children and she cannot take that heartbreak. His daughter JJ admits to lying. Roland realizes his mistake and works to reconcile. Ovie joins a family dinner and speaks warmly about the girls' late mother, and the family begins to heal. The girls and Roland accept Ovie as part of their lives. On Christmas morning, they all come together, laughing and opening gifts, and Ovie receives a special piece of jewelry.
