In the tense household of My Tomboy Sister, Ejike’s world revolves around his sister Ukamaka, a tomboy whose preference for loose shirts and caps angers him deeply. Having abandoned his own studies to fund her education, he interprets her masculine style as rebellion, forcing her into dresses and makeup despite her protests. Into this tension steps Uche, a graduate student who enlists Ukamaka’s friend Joy to arrange a meeting through a reading group. As Uche tutors her, an easy affection grows, but Ejike’s vigilance never wanes. His suspicion turns invasive when he interrogates Uche, demanding to know if he is a virgin before granting him access to Ukamaka. The household’s fragile peace shatters when Ejike discovers Ukamaka and Joy sharing a bed—he hurls insults at Joy and casts her out, triggering Ukamaka’s flight. Consumed by guilt and fear, Ejike scours the city, filing reports with police and military units, but every lead dissolves into nothing.
