Music Is My Crime

Okenwa, a struggling musician indebted to loan shark Boss, auditions for producer Reggie but is harshly dismissed. Desperate, his girlfriend leaves him, and Boss’s thugs threaten him. Meanwhile, aspiring rapper OJ defies her strict father, who wants her in the family business. Her brother Cassidy mediates but fails to change her mind. Okenwa’s men botch a kidnapping, taking OJ instead of the intended target. Initially hostile, they bond over music; OJ revises his lyrics, and love grows. Her family searches for her, led by Cassidy. OJ secretly confronts Boss, using knowledge of his private life to clear Okenwa’s debt. Okenwa insists on repaying her. They collaborate with Reggie on a political song that becomes a hit, launching Okenwa to fame. At a family dinner, Okenwa asks for OJ’s hand. Cassidy reluctantly blesses them after seeing OJ’s joy. Her father admits pride. Okenwa buys a house in OJ’s name, and they continue making music together, celebrating their success and love.
