Love's Antidote
Kanye stands by her relationship with Justin, a man who expects her to manage all household chores while he lounges, dismissing her friend Mimi’s warnings that he’s too demanding. In 'Love's Antidote,' she says yes to his proposal, clinging to the belief that an African man shouldn’t do domestic work. After marriage, an exhausting cycle of work, chores, and childcare with no support drains her, especially when Justin’s critical mother moves in. As stress intensifies, Justin’s jealousy over her bond with their neighbor, Dr. Gerald, only deepens the strain. When their baby falls dangerously ill, Justin callously ignores her desperate pleas for help.

Storyline
Kanye is in a relationship with Justin, a man who expects her to manage all household chores and cooking while he watches football and issues commands. Despite warnings from her friend Mimi that Justin is too needy, Kanye brushes off the concern, arguing that an African man shouldn’t be expected to perform domestic tasks. A romantic proposal soon follows, which she accepts without heeding Mimi’s misgivings. In 'Love's Antidote,' marriage quickly becomes an exhausting cycle of work, cleaning, cooking, and tending to their new baby, with Justin refusing to hire any help and insisting Kanye handle everything alone. The situation worsens when Justin’s mother moves in and subjects Kanye to relentless criticism, driving her to confide in Dr. Gerald, a childhood friend who is also their neighbor and physician, which stirs Justin’s jealousy. As the baby grows ill, Kanye spots worrying symptoms, but Justin dismisses her concerns. When the daycare calls about the baby vomiting, Kanye begs Justin to take the child to the hospital, only for him to refuse, choosing a football match over his family’s urgent need. Dr. Gerald later informs them that the baby suffered a severe bacterial infection and did not survive. Overcome with grief, Kanye blames Justin’s fatal negligence and resolves to leave the marriage, packing her belongings and instructing him to contact her lawyer. Remorseful now, Justin turns on his mother, blaming her for raising him to believe women exist to serve men. Soon after, his mother seeks out Kanye to apologize, admitting her part in the tragedy. Though Kanye accepts the apology, her resolve remains unbroken; she tells them that with her baby gone, forgiveness for Justin is impossible, and she walks away for good.
