Love Mandate

Evangelist Zara lives with her close friend Juliet and prays each morning to win souls. In a wealthy mansion, Mrs Josephine endures her son Daniel's drinking, smoking, and one-night stands. When she finds a used condom wrapper in his sheets, Daniel mocks her, so she brings Zara into the home to preach until Daniel's soul is won. Daniel calls Zara Sister Rebecca, gives her a red dress, and urges her to smoke and dance, yet she feels her heart race whenever he is near. She confesses to Juliet that she wants a God-fearing partner, and Daniel tells his friend Sam she is special. Sam's remarks during a makeover outing expose that winning Zara was part of Daniel's bet, so Zara throws the gifts back and leaves. Days later, Daniel wakes with a severe stomach ache and collapses in the hallway. His mother finds him, and after the doctor diagnoses food poisoning, Daniel fears he may die and asks her to call Zara. She rushes over, feeds him, reads scripture, and prays through his recovery. Daniel stops smoking and drinking and tells his mother he loves Zara and wants to apologize. When he confesses at her door, Zara turns him away, insisting he is not the man she prayed for. Daniel remains determined, and Zara returns to his house, still convinced God is not done with the mission. Daniel brings her into a decorated living room, drops to one knee, and proposes. He thanks her for saving him and says he found God because of her. Zara tearfully says yes and later shows Juliet the engagement ring. Juliet rejoices that God has changed even a coconut-head like Daniel, and the couple embraces as the credits roll over the city skyline.
