Love Lies Bleeding

Cassidy works as a head chef, fending off the unwelcome touch of Jeremy, a wealthy shareholder, which leads to a reprimand from her boss. At home, she endures a toxic relationship with Henry, who is verbally abusive and dismissive; when her car breaks down, he refuses to help, triggering a fight where he tells her to find another man. Discovering a letter revealing Henry has an infection from unprotected sex, Cassidy confronts him, but he brushes her off. Meanwhile, her boss assigns her to do home service at Jeremy's house, a task she initially resents. There, she learns Jeremy suffers from leukemia and is kind-hearted; she apologizes for her earlier rudeness, and they begin spending time together, playing games and sharing their pasts as orphans. Cassidy decides to leave Henry, ending the relationship firmly after he tries to reconcile. She grows closer to Jeremy, who confesses he has only a month to live. Devastated but determined, Cassidy promises to stay, and they share intimate moments as he expresses his love. His health deteriorates, and he dies in bed, with Cassidy and his mother figure, Ma Ejiro, by his side. Three months later, a lawyer reads Jeremy's will, leaving 60% of his properties to Ma Ejiro and 30% to Cassidy. She initially refuses, feeling undeserving, but the lawyer insists it was his wish. The film closes with Cassidy mourning yet finding closure in the inheritance.
