Storyline
Lamb follows Ephraïm, a half-Jewish, nine-year-old Ethiopian boy who loses his mother to a severe famine. Desperate to find work, his father leaves for the capital city of Addis Ababa, placing Ephraïm and his inseparable companion—a rust-colored pet sheep named Chuni—with distant relatives in the lush, volcanic southern mountains. Struggling to fit into his new home, Ephraïm's world shatters when his bitter uncle announces that Chuni must be sacrificed for the upcoming religious festival. Desperate to protect his only friend, Ephraïm plots a complex scheme to save Chuni and escape back to his homeland.
