Imperfect Match 2

In Imperfect Match 2, Ifeanyi, a successful Igbo man, lives with his pregnant Yoruba girlfriend Bukky, who is carrying their son Ifeanyi Junior. They share a warm domestic life, with Bukky teaching and Ifeanyi working. His mother Mama arrives unexpectedly from the UK. She mocks Bukky's ewedu soup and says she hates that Bukky is Yoruba. She insists Ifeanyi should marry Chioma, an Igbo childhood friend. Bukky grows dejected under the insults. She tells Ifeanyi it is over because she wants a family that accepts her. She confides in her friend Mariam and recalls her aunt's marriage destroyed by family disapproval. Ifeanyi searches for Bukky with his best friend Kingsley. She stays firm. Heartbroken, Ifeanyi meets Chioma at a bar, now an accomplished auditor, and she tries to console him. Meanwhile, Bukky starts dating Dr. Ayo, a kind and attentive doctor. Ayo proposes, and Bukky accepts, though she doubts moving too fast. Kingsley tells Ifeanyi that his mother deliberately sabotaged the relationship. Ifeanyi storms home to confront her. He tells Mama he will marry Bukky and that his proposed marriage to Chioma is finished. Mama screams and collapses on the stairs. Ifeanyi then pleads with Bukky, but she insists she cannot return without his family's acceptance. Bukky realizes she still loves Ifeanyi. She ends her engagement with Ayo and tells him she cannot hurt him further and that a part of her belongs to Ifeanyi. Bukky returns to Ifeanyi, and Mama sees her son's happiness. She gradually softens, playfully coins the wedding hashtag 'Buknyi 2024,' and embraces Bukky. The older woman accepts the couple. They look forward to their future together, and the film closes with Ifeanyi and Bukky in bed, joking and reconnecting in their usual playful manner.
