Izunna, a rich man in Lagos, is angry when a village girl named Ijeoma becomes pregnant with his child. His uncle tells him to do the right thing, but Izunna refuses. He treats Ijeoma with great cruelty, making her live like a servant in his own house. He even brings other women home to humiliate her. Ijeoma is alone, hungry, and scared. One friend tries to help her, but Izunna is very stubborn. Will Ijeoma survive this treatment? What will happen to her and the unborn baby? This is a story of pride, cruelty, and a fight for dignity against all odds.

Storyline
Spoiler alert! Izunna gets village girl Ijeoma pregnant but calls her a "bush rat." He is cruel and makes her sleep in the guest room. His uncle scolds him, but Izunna does not listen. He invites city girls to mock Ijeoma and treats her like a maid. After his uncle leaves, Izunna becomes worse. He locks away all the food and cooking gas, leaving Ijeoma to starve. Izunna's friend Greg finds her crying and hungry. Greg becomes her savior. He gives her money, buys food, and takes her to doctor visits. He scolds Izunna for his evil behavior. Later, Ijeoma gives birth to a baby boy. The baby changes everything. At the naming ceremony, Izunna holds his son happily. Afterwards, Izunna finally feels remorse. He apologizes to Ijeoma for his terrible cruelty. He admits she is a virtuous woman who gave him a son. He asks her to marry him, promising to pay her bride price and treat her well. Ijeoma, after all her suffering, accepts his apology and proposal. They start a new life together.
