Nelson lies in bed speaking on the phone with his mistress Ebere, praising their encounters. In the film IF CHEATING WAS A CRIME, his wife Sophie overhears him insult her and silently picks up a knife but leaves instead. She then calls her lover Oliver to arrange a tryst, but Nelson catches her on the phone, leading to a fight where he slaps her and she vows revenge. Sophia's mother mediates, but Sophie admits her infidelity, claiming she learned it from Zubby. Having devised a plan to marry Nancy and served Sophie divorce papers, Nelson returns home to find two used condoms. he confronts Sophia but she isn't remorseful. He goes to Nancy's house and finds two used condom wrappers and catches her in a towel with another man. Despite her pleas for forgiveness, he walks away; an elder is brought in to mediate, but Sophia remains cold. Later, Zubby is seen publicly with Chinelo, and Sophia happens to walk past, realizing the depth of his deception. The confrontation between Sophia and Nelson turns heated as she accuses him of lying to everyone about being single. She storms off with her children, leaving him exposed and their marriage shattered by mutual betrayal. Nelson and Sophia settle their differences, and they reconcile and live together.
