Storyline
Didi works as a ride-share driver in Lagos while debt presses down and a leak stains her rental ceiling. Her landlady Madam Ego refuses to fix the plumbing and taunts Didi about Amos, the husband who abandoned the matrimonial home. Their teenage daughter Oma urges reconciliation but Didi refuses. She remembers that Amos gambled away three million naira meant for her fashion startup and the family relocation visa before fleeing with another woman. A passenger named Kamil enters Didi's car and an easy rapport builds during the trip as they talk through the Lagos traffic. Amos then appears in Didi's living room as if he never left, and an explosive confrontation ends with Didi ordering him out and revealing the full betrayal to Oma. Creditors in the form of touts soon surround the compound demanding repayment of Amos's loans and threatening the entire family. Didi's mother arrives from the village and clashes violently with Madam Ego over the same plumbing issue, forcing the landlady to confront the damage she has ignored. Meanwhile Didi begins a tentative romance with Kamil, sharing a dinner date where they speak honestly about their pasts and a night at a club where they dance closely under colored lights. The crisis peaks at the compound gate when Amos argues with Didi and Oma, denying the gambling accusations until a tout arrives demanding repayment and prompting Didi to call the police for protection. Overwhelmed by the pressure, Didi retreats to her room in tears. Kamil calls her phone and offers comfort, asking what she wants for Christmas. She answers that she just wants to be happy, and he replies that he will make her happy and be her Santa Claus. Didi's mother forces Madam Ego to agree to fix the pipes after a heated standoff at the courtyard tap. On Christmas night Didi and Kamil celebrate at a lively Lagos club, holding hands and dancing amid the festive lights while the city hums around them.
