Jide narrates an animated prologue about his high school heartbreak when Toyosi left him after he wrote her exams. In the present he watches a friend propose at a restaurant and the tight-knit group of six friends plans a reunion getaway. At the office his colleagues Zainab and Jane confront their coworker Emeka for missing the proposal and strong-arm him into organizing the trip which they dub Operation #PepPepDemGang. They convince a reluctant Jide to attend insisting he use the reunion to make Toyosi jealous. The plan grows from a simple makeover of gym sessions a stylish wardrobe and a haircut into a scheme to hire a fake girlfriend. They recruit Teni Jane's sister for two hundred thousand naira and Jide agrees to the charade. The group converges at a scenic beach resort where couples are assigned shared chalets while singles room separately. Tensions simmer immediately as Teni asserts control over Jide punishing him by making him sleep on the floor when he deviates from her script. Nife wrestles with travel insomnia and a growing attraction to Jide as her partner GD manages his own flirtations. A boozy boat cruise and a lively bonfire night amplify the chaos as Teni gets heavily intoxicated on palm wine forcing Jide to care for her through the night. In a quiet corridor conversation Jide confesses to Nife that Teni is a paid actress and the entire romance is a performance to provoke Toyosi and Nife surprised admits she has feelings for Jide. The revelation sits between them as Toyosi arrives with a new man igniting a volatile confrontation that erupts into a physical fight between the women requiring the men to intervene. In a charged park setting Jide emboldened by his friend Ogu's advice about authenticity in love finds Nife alone. He drops the facade and declares his genuine desire for a life with her referencing shared joys like singing off-key to The Greatest Showman and gaming together.
