Tiana, a Lagos baker running Tiana's Sweet Tooth, begins her thirty-third birthday with a morning workout and a kitchen filled with orders alongside her friend Hawa and an assistant. She goes to an art gallery where she meets Kenny, a charming stranger who challenges her to a sobriety test and says they were destined to meet. They share a spontaneous dinner on the hood of his car and return to her apartment where they spend the night together. The next morning Kenny prepares breakfast for her hangover but explains he must leave for a family function and promises to call. Days later Tiana discovers Kenny died in a car accident weeks earlier, and she leans on Hawa who paints her portrait while condemning Kenny's supposed disappearance. Tiana then realizes her handsome neighbor Taiwo is Kenny's identical twin brother, a revelation that turns her daily life into an excruciating reminder of loss. Tiana struggles with the pain of seeing Taiwo constantly until her car breaks down and he rescues her and her young daughter Gift, leading to the discovery they share the same birthday. She invites Taiwo to Gift's birthday dinner where he bonds with the girl and kisses her, prompting her to confess to Hawa that she still misses Kenny daily but feels a growing connection to his brother. Gift later suffers a serious car accident requiring a rare AB-negative blood transfusion. The doctor indicates the father would be a match, so Tiana calls Taiwo, who rushes to the hospital furious that she kept the crisis from Kenny's family. Gift recovers and Taiwo asks if his mother can visit, a meeting that goes well despite initial tension. Later on a balcony dinner Tiana admits she has loved Taiwo since the hospital night and they toast for Kenny acknowledging the complexity of loving a man who reminds her of the soulmate she lost.
