Fame And Fury

Daberechi, a rising Nollywood star, navigates a tense relationship with Deolu, a wealthy businessman who wants her to quit acting and start a family. Despite offering to fund her films, he insists she abandon her profession, and his mother further demeans her career, pushing her toward respectable business. Her manager Cynthia warns against men who undermine independence, but Daberechi feels torn. While on set, she meets Paul, an extra who showers her with admiration and flattery, leading her to recommend him for roles and begin a romance. However, Paul's charm quickly fades as he becomes controlling, demanding money for a car and issuing ultimatums over casting decisions. He isolates her from Cynthia, sabotages her brand deals, and reveals a pattern of fraud—having swindled other women, including his ex-wife Gift. Daberechi's career crumbles as directors blacklist her. Confronting Paul at home, she accuses him of ruining her life. He grows violent, threatening her, and she calls the police. Officers arrest him for battery and domestic violence, and Daberechi watches him taken away, finally free. In the aftermath, she rebuilds her career and friendship with Cynthia, smiling as a new opportunity arrives via text, embracing her independence and true support.
