Several young maids arrive in Lagos and are instantly judged by their employers. Presenting herself as 'Obi baby' at an interview, Obehi earns a warning; Ebony confides in a friend about her widowed, unsmiling boss and is told to use a wrapper and stones in her bra as seduction tools. Scolded for laziness, Iboro is forced to return off-size clothes to a dry cleaner. After a crude cucumber joke about her boss's body crumbles Obehi's placement, her attempts at repair—bleach on the car, an iron on a no-iron shirt—only seal her firing. Turning to a native doctor, she rubs the love powder on her own face instead of the man, then attacks him when he refuses a refund; her guardian sees her leaving and confirms the dismissal. Meanwhile, a maid named Obi tries to seduce an older employer and is banished. In a wealthier house, Chief watches his unstable son Ray introduce dolls as friends from America and declare he wants to marry Obehi; when Chief learns they have had sex, he orders them married in a week and locks them in a room to 'know each other' while Ray sings to his imaginary friends. For her part, Iboro lies that her sister was hit by a trailer, but her employer pulls her file and exposes it; later he tells her she throws herself at him with cheap clothes and a cheap outlook, says women like her should be used and dumped, and throws her out. From the doorway of another life, a woman who faked her death returns to her husband, who calls her dead to him and has her removed. Chief blocks the agency madam from seeing Obehi, and Ray turns controlling, accusing her of trying to burn down his kitchen, calling her a cheap crook, and sending her away. When a fellow maid relays Obehi's plight, the agency madam promises to free her without force. Iboro receives Prince, who apologizes for his earlier harshness, says he no longer wants her as a maid, and offers to set up a business if she stays.
