Baby Walangolo

The movie Baby Walangolo follows Janet, a woman trapped in prostitution, and her young daughter Zikora. They live under the harsh control of Bako, a ruthless pimp who treats Janet as his property. The story begins when Janet returns home badly beaten by a customer arranged by Bako. Instead of helping, he gets angry because she cannot work. Young Zikora sees her mother’s pain and bravely confronts Bako, but he threatens her. Neighbours in their crowded compound constantly judge and insult Janet, making Zikora cry with their cruel words. Janet defends her daughter, but the shame never stops. Zikora often begs her mother to find better work. Hope appears when Mr. Josiah, a wealthy and respectful client, pays Janet well without demanding sex. He listens to her struggles and offers real help to change their lives. Bako becomes jealous and more violent. He takes the money, threatens Zikora, and warns Josiah to stay away. Mr. Josiah moves Janet and Zikora to a safe new house, gives Janet a cleaning job, and supports Zikora’s education. They finally feel peace. But Bako tracks them down, breaks in, and attacks Janet in rage. Zikora tries to protect her mother as the situation turns terrifying. The police arrive and arrest Bako. In court, many victims speak out. Bako is found guilty of sex trafficking, battery, sexual assault, kidnapping, illegal guns, and murder. He receives life in prison. Janet and Zikora are finally free to build a peaceful life together. The film shows the hard fight to escape abuse and calls for an end to sex trafficking.
